"Γιατί αυτή την εβδομάδα οι Έλληνες την είπαμε "Μεγάλη";
Ποιο μέτρο μετράει τη "μεγαλοσύνη" της, με ποιο κριτήριο της δώσαμε μέγεθος ξεχωριστό από κάθε άλλο συμβατικό διάστημα χρόνου;"

"Οι άνθρωποι μιλάμε για τον Θεό, για την ψυχή, για την αιώνια ζωή, μιλάμε για τη σωτηρία, την αναγέννηση, τη χάρη. Όλες αυτές οι λέξεις μπορεί να είναι περισσότερο ή λιγότερο κατανοητές χωρίς να παραπέμπουν σε δεδομένα της αισθητής εμπειρίας, η κατανόησή τους δεν συνεπάγεται οπωσδήποτε μια εμπειρία σχέσης με τα σημαινόμενα. Είναι πιθανό η σημαντική τους να εξαντλείται σε 'ψιλά' νοήματα, να σημαίνουν-επισημαίνουν μόνο διανοητικές συλλήψεις".

"Πώς θα ξεχωρίσουμε αν η διανοητική σύλληψη του ενδεχομένως υπαρκτού υπονομεύεται ή όχι από την ψυχολογική μας ανάγκη να εκδεχόμαστε ως υπαρκτό το ανύπαρκτο;"
"Πώς θα αποφύγουμε την αυτονόμηση των σημαινόντων, τη μετατροπή τους σε νοητά είδωλα;"

'Εορτολογικά παλινωδούμενα'

We are trying - in our short time of living- to conceive and carry out a way of life. We are being taugh of a language which is a way to communicate with one another. We are given a certain name, a place where we are brought up, a family, an identity of certain cultural past. We are born in a certain time, which brings us an amount of obligations, at a point in history where we are to find a constituted present of facts, of determined social relations, laws and also a rich tradition of questions and possible answers on terms of meanings and needs; philosophy and religion, poetry and art, physics and science. This would have been totally inexplicable, totally unbearable to a lonesome mind that is just trying to conceive it all, to reach a certain decision which is to be a choice of thinking and acting, to keep up with it all, to stay healthy in mind and body, to find a peaceful and thorough way to experience its uniqueness and yet to share it with others on some common sense of a shared welfare. It would have been utterly impossible if not through an instictive inner trust to the amount of truth that is being carried within us and is being realised through the overcoming of just the act of mental analysis; this allows some creative freedom, the possibility to love, the capability of decency.
